The Drawnings of Emel Meneses

In the year 2006 Emel Meneses presented in the Regional Sympathy Card Artists Salon a series of drawings entitled “Uribe Vélez”, portraits extracted from newspapers pictures of the Colombian leader, placing in scene the always conflicting and polemic relationship that exists between art, politics and media, between media representation and political CANDLE HOLDER representation, between art and the  staging of power.
